8:00 – 11:00 PM – Contra dancing
All dances taught. No partner or experience necessary.
Suggested donation: Student: $8 | Adult: $10-15 | Family: $25 max.
The Mountain Laurel Band, which includes Joe Baker, Bonner McAllister, and Donny MacLean, was the house band for the Sheffield Contra Dance for a very long time, and we are honored to have them back every September.
Thanks to B. Docktor for allowing us to share her photo from the dance tent at Oldtone Roots Music Festival. We think it captures the joy of contra dancing beautifully! You can find out more about B. Docktor Photography at her website: www.bdocktor.com.
Hey guys! Tonight we’ll be hosting our annual “Strawberry Season” dance tonight. And…(spoiler alert)…there will be strawberries for snacking! Our very own committee member Hannah Chamberlain will be calling, and music will be provided by the downright virtuosic musicians Clara Stickney and Jamie Oshima.
The dance will start at 7:30 PM with a quick lesson, as usual, with the main event running between 8:00 and 11:00. Suggested donations are $8 for students, $10-15 for adults, and a max of $25 for families. And again, the location is at Dewey Memorial Hall on 91 Main St., in Sheffield, MA. Call us at 413.717.1255 if you have questions. Click here to download the poster.
